Issue 2: Housing and Health

Welcome to the second edition of the INTARESE Technical Briefs.

This issue contains three articles from INTARESE's housing case study. Dr Paul Wilkinson and Bridget Fenn introduce the case study and explain how the INTARESE methodology can help to quantify the impacts of housing policies on health.

Dr Zaid Chalabi and Dr Ulla Haverinen-Shaughnessy detail how INTARESE is using models to predict the negative and positive health impacts from different housing policy options.

Sirinath Jameson and Dr Bernard Collignan show how a policy focus on energy efficient housing might not always lead to health benefits for the occupants as reduced ventilation rates can lead to increased indoor air pollution.

The INTARESE Technical Briefs are a quarterly newsletter that will provide up-to-date information on the activities of the many European scientists who participate in the INTARESE project.
