SP6 - User Consultation and Dissemination
The aim of SP6 is to provide the two-way link between users, in the scientific and policy communities, as well as the wider public arena, and the project. Inputs from users and other stakeholders are required to help guide the project, and ensure that it addresses users’ needs, and to provide feedback and comment on the utility, shortcomings or potential further development of its products. Outward dissemination is required to ensure that the activities undertaken during the project, and its results, are widely known, in order to avoid duplication of effort, feed into other complementary activities, and encourage the widespread adoption and use of the project findings.
In Phase 1 of the project, the focus will be on two aspects: on an initial assessment of users’ needs; and on promoting awareness of the project – and encouraging participation – amongst as wide a possible user and stakeholder population. The three work packages, 6.1 (User consultation), 6.2 (Dissemination) and 6.3 (External training) will work closely together on these tasks. Close collaboration will also be maintained with all other Sub-projects and their constituent work packages in order to feed the findings (e.g. on user needs) into the project, and to ensure early availability of deliverables for both internal and external dissemination. A range of training activities will also be organised (during this phase mainly targeted at internal users) in order to develop understanding of the methods and tools being generated.
