The overall aim of this work package is to review and enhance systems for environmental monitoring in order to support integrated environment and health risk assessment. During the first phase of the project the objectives are:

• to identify the environmental data required for integrated health impact assessment;
• to identify relevant sources and compile an inventory of data sources and models; to compare and assess current monitoring networks and other sources of information with respect to their suitability for (integrated) health impact studies; and
• based on the results, to identify priorities to enhance existing data sources by extending or improving monitoring networks, linking data sets, filling data gaps through the use of modelling or proxy measures, and development of new monitoring techniques.
