WP1.1 Assessment Framework
Ref:
WP1.1 Assessment Framework, will establish a conceptual and practical framework for integrated monitoring and assessment, which takes account of the needs of users, the structure and capacity of user institutions and service and data providers, and the availability and quality of information in the EU.
Specific objectives of WP1.1 are:
- to investigate and describe the information needed to support and implement the EU environment health strategy in relation to environmental degradation and climate change, based on the policy studies in SP3;
- to evaluate the various approaches adopted in policy studies in the past and to make an inventory of indicators used to describe sources, exposure, health effects and overall impact;
- to evaluate state of the art of assessment methods in release, exposure, consequence assessment and impact characterisation across the causal chain and in particular the ability of linkage of indicators across the causal chain;
- to identify and describe a core set of methodologies and indicators that allow consistent linkage from source to impact;
- to identify key uncertainties and assumptions made in the integration process and to develop approaches to deal with these in a transparent and reproducible way (in collaboration with WP1.5).
