Institute Vinča, established in 1948, has 50-years experiance in multidisciplinary scientific and technological research. Today IV comprises about 15 departments and 5 research centres. IV is leader of more than 50 scientific projects and participate in about 30 ongoing research project funded by Serbian Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection. IV participate in international projects, EU projects within 5th and 6th Framework Programmes (eg. TRIoH, PBPTSD, COST B28, DIEPHY, INTAILRISK, INDUWASTE, RECOFUIEL) as well as in the projects of bilateral cooperation with several EU countries. Research areas in IV related to INTARESE project are in the area of environmnetal and health issues: exposure assessment to physical and chemical agents, risk assessment and management, development and application of biomonitoring methods; modeling and simulation of air pollution with exposure assessment; monitoring and analyses of radiological and chemical contamination in the air, waters, food and biological materials; assessment and management of radioacive wastes (depleted uranium); radon measurements, etc.
Dr Milena Jovašević -Stojanović is Research Associate in the Radiation and Environmental Protection Department at IV. She was educated at the University of Belgrade: studied Chemical Engeenering and did her doctoral theses at the Department of Pesticides of the Agricultural Faculty.
